Will Larry Walker make the Hall of Fame or does he fall into the Andres Galarraga category of playing in ?

Denver during the 90's launching pad era? Walker played in 17 seasons from 1989-2005. He was a great hitter, batting .313 for his career, 2,160 hits, 471 doubles, 383 hr's, 1,311 rbi's. 7 time gold glove outfielder, 5 time all star, 1 time MVP. I don't know though. He played in a major steroid era and he played at Coors Field for 10 years. I say NO. What do you think?

So, I'll start by saying I have had a share of Rockies season tickets since the very first year. And I am probably the only one in town that thinks the Holliday trade will be good.

I think the measure for a HOF player is not only stats, but also how much impact they had on the game. I liked Walker, but he never seemed to me to be the guy, the one that all other teams feared, the one who could win a game by pure will. In his era in Denver, I thought that Gallaraga and even Dante were bigger in the clutch. And, frankly, Larry played the game with the energy of someone who wished he was back in BC playing hockey instead.

Compare Walker to someone like Dale Murphy. That guy owned the NL in mid/late 80's. Two MVP, 398 HR, huge arm, big man speed, and the guy loved to play. If Murphy is a marginal HOF, then Larry Walker has no chance.
