Need help with MMA gloves and tape.?
I was in a sports store trying on UFC gloves and Medium gloves were sort of tight, and Large were a bit loose. Since you have to wear tape underneath, should I get Large gloves?
Thank you. I'll get large.
Now I'm confused again.
I have to disagree heavily with Steve the answer above.
You want the large gloves, at the very least you are going to be wearing wraps when training, at least if you are going to be doing any heavy hitting period. Though honestly you can get by with the mediums, in reality all bag work or heavy hitting where you would be wrapped up you will be using boxing type gloves or bag gloves. You don't really want to be working the bag with MMA gloves.
In reality even when training you pretty much only where the MMA style gloves while grappling when getting ready for a fight. Not really a need for MMA style gloves if you are just starting out. Some bag gloves or some boxing style gloves and shin pads, can get you buy just fine.
But yes, you want a little bit of room when buying MMA gloves so that you can be wrapped or taped underneath, but they shouldn't be so lose that you can't wear them when rolling without being wrapped up.
