What does this mean?? It's on my softball bat?
So my dad always buys my softball bats for me, so i don't know much about them even though i've played for 10 years. I have a question about 3 of my bats.
1. What does it mean when my bat says -10 on it?? (http://www.onlinesports.com/p/2009-ssr1b-stealth-clarity-composite-fast-pitch-softball-bat-10-oz-from-easton--I,DSPT-EA-A113060.html?srcid=frgl&utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=DSPT-EA-A113060&cm_mmc=Froogle-_-Products-_-PPC-_-DSPT-EA-A113060)
2. What does it mean when is says -12? (http://www.homerunmonkey.com/homerun-worth-fastpitch-bat-fpml12-mayhem-comp-lite.html)
3. And what about -13? (http://www.demarini.com/demarini/product.jsp?CONTENT%3C%3Ecnt_id=10134198674745019&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302760191)
The links are the 3 bats that i'm talking about, what one do you think is the best?
That's the weight of the bat. For example: The Easton Stealth Clarity (the first bat) has a -10 weight. If you buy a bat that is 32 inches, the bat will weigh 22 ounces. If you have a 32 inch bat with a -12 weight, the bat will weigh 20 ounces. Some go as low as -8, and some go as high as -13.5. It all depends on player prefference, size, and weight of the player. -10 is the most popular and most often used. some players may like heavier bats, some may like lighter bats. Again, it's all on size and prefference of the player.
