Sliding Fifth Wheel Hitch - Can you void your warranty?
If you are looking for a fifth coupling scroll wheel for short bed truck, you might think it's the perfect solution for truck/5th wheel setup. Unfortunately, there are some drawbacks that could give cause for concern.
When sliding fifth wheel hitches, such as the Sidewinder, for the first time in the market thought it was RVers the perfect choice for people who own a short bed truck, but I wanted to put on and take fifth wheel. With a shorter bed, there is less distance between the tip of the RV and the rear of the cabin. When activated - particularly a tight turn - will make contact between the RV and cabin. Both can suffer major damage. Before Slip couplings, their only option was to place the fifth wheel further back in the truck bed. This creates a very unstable situation with the weight sitting behind pin the rear axle.
