Do fastpitch and slowpitch softball bats sound the same?
The few softball bats I've used sound different.
I have one fast-pitch bat which has a loud 'ping' when i hit the ball
and a slow pitch bat that has a dull smack when i hit the ball.
My question is, do all fast pitch bats have a "ping" and all slow pitch bats have a "dull smack"?

Per ASA Rule 3, Section 1, There is no differentiation between a slow or fast pitch bat. A bat is a bat and all must meet certain size, weight, and construction regulations.
An aluminum wall, or titanium wall will sound a lot different than one made from carbon fibers!
